Hmmm.... Skyline, Clayton, Palm Harbor, Karsten. All I see are horror stories on pissedconsumer and consumer affairs websites, and I have been told these are the good manufactured home builders. My wife and I had planned to purchase a high end manufactured home in the $100K price range and place it in Victoria Palms Resort in Donna Texas. Initially we would be winter Texans, but just in case it changed to full time Texas residents, we want to buy nice. I understand that people are far more likely to post complaints than praises, but after... Read more

Morgantown WV is no better! They placed our home before they ever got the septic permit. It was placed on our lot in December 2015 and it's now April 2016 and still no septic permit. Can't get things fixed inside...keep lying to us about when it will be done. Ceiling is cracked in 2 places, they say stress cracks. The carpet has nail holes all the way across between the 2 sides. Very noticeable and they keep saying they will fix it. I don't want brand new carpet FIXED! It needs replaced completely! There is something wrong with the floor... Read more

Was going to put house on top of septic system, got caught. Placed house wrong so now have wetland in front yard, insulation wet, use caulk for tile, plumbing ran downhill, inside all wrong colors, floors warping, lost front yard due to wetland, bracing issues, won't follow through with what they say they will do, we had to be the general contractors, we made calls to workers to get things done, had to do things 3 to 5 times to get it close to acceptable, husband had to go back and do some of the plumbing, duct work still wrong after 4... I went into a Clayton home representative in Bennettsville SC After talking to the mgr and telling him I was looking to purchase a mobile home and told him I needed it to be installed and ready to move into in 2 weeks. I was assured that this would happen. After making a substantial down payment I waited. The mobile was delivered 2 weeks later but that's where it sits now almost 4 weeks. The ends are open exposed to the weather because they don't have the siding to install. If you are considering buying a mobile run don't walk away from... Read more

This is a Terrible company to do business with. I do NOT recommend them to anybody!! They do not honor their contract, not a man of their word. Went thru over 6 different managers to name a few Winnie, Jay, J.W. - Bill Alan- transferred San Antonio Gary - heart issue Ray Stinger -transition to close Saul Frankie- last 1 Tav-new manager paid for filing fees several times because THEY missed the deadline on work to be completed & this was NOT due to weather. Keep in mind, with each new manager they wanted to write a new contract so our file... Read more

My Clayton home is 3 years old and already the roof is leaking and the ceiling is being damaged inside. I went back to where I purchased the home and was basically told, "too bad, have fun fixing it your self!" How can a brand new home have only a one year warranty on the roof???? I have contacted Clayton and they said to look for missing shingles and/or missing caulk and add some. I was planning to trade this one in two years for a bigger one and when I do it will most DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE A CLAYTON HOME!!! Read more

I actually had a great experience with Dax and other people there. I purchased a home and he still follows up with me. I did however read their hours and initially came with in reasonable hours . I sure they have family to go home to and I respect that. This story is so far from the scope of my experience that it seems fictitious in my opinion. The one time I came in to bring some paperwork close to closing time, Dax was actually unavailable because he was checking the trailers to make sure all were locked, so I left my paperwork with a lady...
