We are in the same situation with a new Clayton home.

Any updates?

We are about to consult with an attorney.

Hi , I live in Nevada. we to received a very damaged home.

clayton homes refused to live up to their contract. they will not repair anything. Well, I refuse to let them get away with this. It has been very hard.

The state manufactured home division is there to protect you from dishonest retailers and manufactures, but so far they are only protecting themselves. You need to file a formal report with them. they may or may not help you, but you need to do this. Then you need to do some studying.

In your installation manual their will be some reference's to federal regulations. look a all the regulations that pertain to your issue. this will help you understand what you can do. I am fighting them with everything I have in me.

they have not be able to get one over me yet. You need to know, if you have a home that you received damaged or defective, or the problems you are having now, are the responsibility of the inspectors. everything that is wrong with the home from the factory to after the set up. These homes are said to be inspected before leaving the factory to your home.

They are not! the inspections that were performed for installation and occupancy should have caught any problems. If you are having problems with your home chances are it was never inspected properly. This is what happened to us.

The state is the problem. they are allowing substandard homes to leave the factory. Once you get one delivered it is very hard to get help. I'm fighting them as we speak!

they have blocked every attempt I have made to get help from them. So I went to the media. I told them what was happening to us , and they agreed to do a story on the state inspections and the retailer refusing to do repairs. When it went on TV and they new it was going to cause a lot of trouble for them, they stared taking me more serious and are working with me.

we are still waiting for the out come. But the news crew is on top of it. If the out come is not as it should be ,it will air again on TV.I urge people to get their homes inspected from top to bottom. Have the shingles inspected for proper placement and the foundation, ducting, electrical inside and out side you would not believe what we found.

The inspections should have caught all of this but they didn't. We should not have to accept a lower standard because it is a manufactured home. They are said to be built to a better standard than a stick home.

They are misrepresenting themselves and it needs to stop! If everyone would just contact the media and complain only then will someone listen.
