The health of my family is at stake

I bought a new home from them for $160k. When we were buying it we noticed water spots on the ceiling which they assured me was just from not being set up properly on the lot and agreed to repair. We put that in the purchase contact. Theyve been out over 5 times just patching it and not fixing the problem, never reached damaged insulation, and its still not fixed. We currently have water leaking into our master bath and bedroom. Weve also had a ton of electrical problems and are now fearing that mold is becoming a health risk.

User's recommendation: Please don’t buy Clayton.

I brought my clayton home june 2018.Nothing but problem. Company keep giving excuses on getting repairs done.This is one sorry company.Ready to sell you a home but don't want to do the repairs on a timely matter.

Call your State's Attorney General

Call your state's Attorney General. I will tell you if enough people call their State's AG. they will look into it. Also file a complaint with HUD. again if enough people do this. Its not that hard. you can file online in most states. just make the complaint short and to the point. leave out your personal life. I call mine and they got things done immediately.

Good place to go for this kind of hme

Didn't go there to buy a home but need some questions answered , they treated me with kindness and went out of their way to help me. Jay Naquin did all he could and then went to the manager to ask him if he could help. If I'm ever in the need for this kind of home I would go there. Thanks again for all your help.

Clayton Homes - Be very aware of what you are buying
I have a 2018 Clayton home that was a special purchase. Cash deal. $57000 with the warranty. The roof has failed miserably causing interior damage. The warranty takes almost no responsibility to repair and takes the stand that the roof has no defects. I am working with the AG and Labor aboard of WV to get my home repaired at least then whatever else may be done on my behalf.

Dont buy from clayton homes

Too much to write and want do any good rude customer service and will only do cosmetic work. This house or moblie home or what ever you want to call it is not worth the price. To much stuff falling apart or breaking plus floors caving in and now black mold is forming and this is not all.We are very disappointed and upset about this house not what wr expected.

Don't buy

We have had nothing but problems. Its going on 3 years and we have complained from day one.Everything is falling apart they have fixed a few things but its was only cosmetic work,we had our roof leaking,our hall floor is caving in have a leak under house floor tile is comming up in guest bathroom its looks like black mold on hall and utility room floor and door and this is just a few theres alot more. On Sep 2019 due to strong storm light fixtures smoke detector were leaking water and in the walls and part of the floor got wet contact home warranty ,and they denied stating that they only cover structural. Contact state farm and sent the adjuster he denied claim stating that the roof have a manufacture defect and i have to call home warranty they gave me the run around both insurance so contact Clayton advocacy and they connect me to Clayton Splendora TX since I bought mobile home there talk to a guy staring that they will fix the roof and the day they supposed to send someone , I contacted Clayton home that morning to make sure they will be there and spoke with Manager Paul and he said that they will not going to fix anything since my warranty experied and they can only do a courtesy call and I explained to him that the roof has a manufacture defect due to the people installing the roof he didnt care and he send someone who is not a professional and state that the roof is find and the issue is that i didnt do maintenance"Really? In a 3 years old roof? and over year settleing the mobile home will make the nail come out.. And the adjuster from State Farm was wrong i told him thats not true so he left he just put some seals in the nail and left. Put complain with BBB and they close the case stating that Clayton dont want tondo amyrhinf about it. So i contsct 3 different roof company who are ceritified wirh BBB and they said thwt the roof has a manufacture proble. And if a inspector xome they will denied the report . They said that the home warranty should cover it since is in the agreement.

Stay away!

This home was purchased 2 years ago, they managed to drag out the repairs past the one year warranty period, so now I am stuck with the repairs. Interior trim is out of square, falling down and Formica on the entertainment center is popping up. Shingles on the roof had about 50 exposed nails, which I had to fix, I still have a window in the living room that leaks badly!!!! I will have to wait till it warms up to fix this mess...It will require me to totally remove the window because it was not installed properly. Also the sliding glass door is out of square, just a matter of time before this starts to leak!!! This company is a joke! If there is a class action suit being filed, I'm in!

RUN THE OTHER WAY FAST!!!!

Very poor service, took a whole year to get a paid for home on the lot. Had to handle all aspects of the lot being prepared herself. Ordered the wrong home and didnt inform the customer until closing day at the attorneys office!

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION.

After waiting what seemed an eternity, I've moved in. I started this process back in early October 2019 and I was told 4-6 weeks so I should of been in mid November to just before Thanksgiving. I bought a place "off the lot" cash. It is now February 10 and I just moved in on February 3rd 2020. I heard from one of the subs; the guy that was supposed to be installing my septic, that Clayton needs your (the subs) bank account number in order for you to be paid. They jerked this sub around for three weeks with their accounting game. Therein another delay. I met with the plumber two see about installing a comfort height toilet into the master bath as well as a shower faucet. The plumber told me that the faucet "better not be a heavy one" and he laughed. Each time I came out here to see what was going on, NOBODY was in the house. After sending many scathing emails to them I finally found an email address that seemed to lite a fire under these "royal rumps". CMHPrivacyonline@***.com. I'm sure that's the email address, but if you google Clayton homes privacy it'll be written there, just read that section. I sent an email to that address and I had people crawling all over my place and getting crap done that following day - I mean like I've never seen people move that fast. BUT just to add to this nightmare from hell...............my neighbor said that he heard that I paid cash for this place...he over heard it from one of the Clayton "setup" guys....Well, I guess MY *** PERSONAL BUSINESS now belongs to the neighborhood. NICE JOB CLAYTON. I wish there was "minus" 100 stars because they deserve none. Don't think that you're getting a quality built home, because you're not. ALL CHEAP GOODS. This was the biggest mistake of my life and I've made some big ones. My original post said $13, add 4 zero's to that. $130,000
